Risen Lord Summer Day Camp 2010
It's not too late to make summer plans for your child!!
We are now taking applications for these week-long sessions:
Week 1: June 21-June 25 9:00-3:00 $110
Week 2: June 28-July 2 9:00-3:00 $110
*Half Days available for $60 a week
Choose one or two sessions! If you register for multiple sessions, we'll discount $10 per session. Pre-registration sign-up fees are 50% of the total session(s) cost. The remainder is due upon FULL registration.
Mission Statement:
We'll help inspire participants to discover and develop their highest potential for fun and education. We aim to instill a proactive drive to make a positive difference in their communities and in the wider world. We seek to enhance not only a child's skills, but their confidence in themselves, their future, their character, and their connections to other people. Our outstanding staff will work to create a community where each child can feel supported and empowered so they may discover who they are and what they are capable of achieving.
Our program offers:
** lots of exercise and outdoor activities, especially with water
** a sense of love and community according to Christian values
** leadership education
** open-ended, individualized curriculum in geography, science, and music
Who may come:
** Our camp is targeted towards children 3-8 years old, but we are open to exceptions.
** We also encourage children who have special needs (please call).
This is an opportunity to refresh both you and your child(ren)'s summer. We'll make learning more fun and fill fun with more learning!

About the Dynamic Duo
Tim Hittinger is a lead teacher at Risen Lord Montessori School and has been teaching there full time for the past five years. His experience with Montessori education began as a preschooler at the Children's House in Beech Grove. He has a paraprofessional certificate from the Montessori Education Centers Associated (MECA) accredited by the American Montessori Association (AMS), and is certified in CPR and First Aid by the American Heart Association. He teaches a large part of the music and Spanish curriculum at RLMS and received teacher training from the nationally recognized Music Together program. He also has a Bachelor's of General Studies with an emphasis in Social Science.
Tim enjoys sports, music, martial arts, sailing, slalom water-skiing, reading, writing, his dog, and his cat.
Julia Hittinger is an Special Education teacher at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Perry Township and has been teaching there for two years. She also taught for a year at Pleasant Grove and a semester at Glenns Valley Elementary after completing her student teaching at Rosa Parks, an Edison School in Perry Township. She is certified in Special Education K-12 and General Education 1-6, as well as CPR and First Aid by the American Heart Association. Julia received her teaching degree from the University of Missouri, St. Louis (UMSL). She aspires to complete a Master's in Education with an emphasis on reading (children's literacy and literature). She also tutors in her free time.
Julia enjoys exercise at the YMCA, Yoga, reading, art projects, her dog, and her cat. This will be the fifth year for Julia and Tim to lead the Risen Lord Summer Day Camp as a husband and wife team.
